hello,

Just got a mac to go with my iphone (use to have a sunk to xp)

I have a gmail email account and would very much like to be able to check and configure my iphone e-mail when it is docked. I want to be able to delete messages so I am not told about them when i check my gmail via my iPhone

I have google notifier chosen instead of mail 3.2

I think you should configure IMAP. IMAP allows you to keep all of the devices you check your email from in sync. If you check GMail on your Mac and delete a few messages, make an email draft, etc that will keep in sync with your iPhone. That way, you'll only have to receive new mail once as opposed to having to mark them as read / delete them on all of your computers/devices. After you enable IMAP, you'll have to reconfigure all your devices setup to access your GMail account using the new IMAP settings.
