so starting from a never unlocked/jailbroken 3gs with firmware 4.3.5 and baseband 5.16.02,
the order to do things in is (on a mac)
1. use redsnow and the STOCK 5.0.1 firmware to make a custom IPSW
2. use itunes and restore using the custom IPSW
(like the iClarified tutorial here http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=17344)
3. go back to redsnow and select "Jailbreak and install Cydia"
(like the iClarified tutorial here http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=18994)
4. This is where I'm "stuck" (i haven't touched my phone, but i'm wanting to make sure i have all the right steps before i back myself in a corner).
to UNLOCK the phone, i should use ultrasnow, BUT it seems like ultrasnow version 1.2.4 is NOT compatible with baseband 5.16.02. (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/)
Is there a way to unlock the phone using the original baseband from my iOS 4.3.5 that i've preserved using redsnow?
