Confiuring Mail. new emails only

Hello,

is it possible to set up Mail. only to download new mails? For example: if I configure Mail. today 9.09.2012, can I say to it: "hey, download for me only mails newer thar 9.09, don' touch old crap".

This option is in, for example, Gmail and I'm wondering is it possible to set up Mail. similiar.
