conflict with iTunes and videos

Hi,
Received this note from my daughter who has a Thinkpad, a new video iPod, and iTunes.

>>I downloaded a bunch of TV shows, but Apple keeps updating iTunes and I can't get the last version to download onto my iPod so I bought all these downloads and can't get them onto my iPod -- now THAT's frustrating!<<

Anyone have any thoughts about this??? Where do we go from here??
