Conflicting read on SATA and transfer rate interchangability

My computer specs at end. Want to order a HDD for my daughter's elderly MB for college.

I have read THIS link here in the forum which states don't worry about SATA I, II or III, the MB and HDD will work together. My MB 1,1 is a SATA I obviously.

Then, in the Amazon review, I read THIS link where the MBP could not communicate with a SATA II because of the higher (3.0 Mbps) transfer rate. That kind cooled me off on buying the drive which from all accounts should work in a MB.

I wonder if the Amazon review is not 100% and perhaps there were other issues. I am just looking to order the right HDD for this old machine to buy me a year or two.

MB 1,1 Intel Core Duo 2.0 Ghz, 2 MB ram
Toshiba MK6034GSX 60 GB HDD
Max OS X 10.4.11
Serial-ATA 1.5 Gigabit

Any current 2.5" S-ATA HDD will do fine, as even the fastest 2.5" S-ATA HDD (even if advertised as S-ATA III HDD) will not even saturate the S-ATA I interface.
