Confused...$399 or $599?

I bought the original iPhone, then bought an iPhone 3G on launch day but when I dropped and broke it, bought a new iPhone 3G last November in Best Buy and redoing my contract.

When I go to buyaniphone.apple.com, it says I'm eligible for an early iPhone upgrade on 12/12/09 for $399 for the 16 3GS.

However, when I click through all the steps to actually buy and reserve an iPhone 3GS, the price for the 16 gb 3GS is at $399.

So can I actually buy it at $399 or will I be charged $599?

Goto the Apple Store and click the link for the iPhone, then follow the steps and it will let you know how much they are going to charge you.

I tested with my dads account, he is a non Iphone owner and is not eligible to upgrade, at the price screen he had the option of 599/699

There ya go, you answered your own question. They can't tell you one price in the checkout and charge you something more. My contract started in mid November I believe and I paid $399 for the 16GB.

Yeah, that's how it is for me too. The subsidized iPhone price is the 199/299, the 399/499 is what you pay now.

Me too! Are you going to shred out 399/499 for it? I am. The 399 one. I'm w/o an iPhone now, b/c I sold it on eBay. I have this crappy Pay As You Go phone, with my sim card in it. I'm going to pay the 399 to get the new one.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing. Did you have the 8GB or 16GB one? I'm going to put it up on eBay today, then once it sells use a crappy PAYG phone until June 19th. Also, are you getting the white or black 16GB?
