I have a Rev A MBA and would like to do a clean install with SL. (I did an upgrade first but had many issues including: crashing Word, constant fan spinning, vertical banding, and other problems described on the board.)

I made a back up on an external HD with TM. Then, I booted off the SL disc and used disk utility to erase the HD. Now I am installing SL. That's the easy part.

The only apps I had installed were Office, iLife, and a few minor utilities, so I plan to reinstall these from their original discs.

But I don't understand how I can then get my files (documents, photos, music) copied back on the HD using the TM backup. Does the migration assistant allow me the choice to restore these files without any preference files or apps? Is there some other method to do this?
Thanks!
