is this spec anygood? can someone give me pro's an con's

Intel Core 2 Duo (2.1GHz) processor.
1GB DDR2 RAM.
120GB hard drive.
13.3ins glossy widescreen TFT display.
Combo drive ( DVD-ROM/CD-RW).
Intel GMA X3100 graphics with 144MB dedicated memory.
802.11 N WiFi.
Bluetooth.
Built-in iSIGHT camera.
MAC OS X v10.5 Leopard
iLIFE 08.

The only con I see is the Combo drive, rather than a Superdrive. Other than that, you might want to increase the amount of RAM yourself.

whats the difference? how well (or not) will it work with the ram in it now?

It will run just fine. You can not burn DVDs which could be no biggie for you. Also the ram of 1gb will be fine for every day computing. If you like to run alot of apps at once, get deep into iMovie or iPhoto, you should look at upgrading. For starting out its a great spec.

upgrade the ram, you'll be able to have alot of apps running at once
looks like we have the exact same model, i don't burn dvds and i actually hardly ever use the optical drive in my mac.

I have this same macbook.. I brought it from apple in Novermber (refurb £529 delivered)

I installed 4GB ram (£40) and increased the hard drive with a 250GB model (£80 i think)

If i want to burn dvd's on the macbook (which i very rare) then i have an external USB dvd writer which i can use.

Its a great machine and i use mine for photoshop, vmware, surfing the net, and ripping dvd's

The pros and cons depend on how much does it cost, and what you plan to use it for?

its great,i have the same one but with the superdrive and 2gb ram. i dont even need the superdrive or combo. anyway its mint for my first mac and havnt had any issues.
