Ohio - GO BUCKEYES!
I am a relative newbie to MAC. I love my hardware and OSX but there are a few things that I stumble with as far as the system. Sometimes if I download software and start it up it does not appear in the Applications directory. Why is this and what am I doing wrong?

Thanks all! Jenny

For most software, you open the disk image file (.dmg) and drag the application to your Applications directory. If you don't do this, and you just open the app, it'll run from the .dmg itself, which isn't what you want.

Unless the program is packed in a .pkg file. You have to drag it to the applications folder before you open it, to make sure you can open it again after you unmount the disk image.
