So I hope this makes sense. I purchased a new iPhone 13 pro (new phone) and added a new line to my account (new phone number). My everyday phone is an iPhone 12 Pro (old phone). I want to take the new phone and use that as my everyday phone with my number from my old phone. I assume it as easy as just switching SIM cards between the two phones. Same carrier for both phones. The real question is how do I transfer all of my apps (etc) from my old phone to the new phone without messing anything up? Ultimately, I want the new phone to have my old number and all of my existing apps, while I will set up the old phone with the new number that I received when I added a line. Hopefully this is not too confusing.

It’s easy.
Since you’ve got physical SIM cards, you can swap the cards and the phone numbers will switch over too. No problem.

To get all your data from your old phone on to your new one, back up your old phone to a Mac or iCloud, then restore the new phone from that backup.
When the new phone is done restoring and all the apps have re downloaded, it’ll be a direct clone of your old phone

On the 13 Pro - if needed Erase and Reset to get back to the initial iPhone setup screen. Put your old 12 Pro next to it and follow the prompts to do an phone to phone wireless data transfer. Once it reboots and you see your apps start to download, at this point you can swap SIM card to the new 13 Pro. Wait until everything is downloaded then you can just go into every app to make sure everything is working as it should, make a phone call, text, etc. to confirm the number is also working.

Once you confirmed everything looks good on the 13 Pro you can now wipe the 12 Pro (or keep as is) and put the other SIM card in there.

Thanks for the fast reply and answer
