Is today the last day to take over a grandfathered unlimited data plan? I have a non-family plan and want to take over someone's unlimited data and phone line.

I think so. But I'm not quit sure what you mean by take over. I think it's the last day of you have an unlimited plan, to upgrade and keep it. But just call Verizon to be sure

The info on this is so mixed up I doubt the reps would know.

What if you don't want to upgrade... Ie assuming an unlimited data plan and then putting the sim in my iPad. That way there's no need to upgrade.

From what I understand, after today any Assumptions of Liability will not include an unlimited data plan--you'll be forced to choose a tiered data plan, even if you're not upgrading.

This only applies if you're transferring a line from one name to another. If you currently have an unlimited data plan under your name you won't lose it, unless/until you upgrade your hardware with subsidized pricing.
