Okay. I need a 1TB, Firewire 800 drive and I think I have settled on Fantom's G-Force drives because of all the favorable reviews around here.

1. There is this fat one with a fan and 32MB data cache for $260...
2. There is this fat one with a fan and 16MB data cache for $325... (less for more?)
3. There is this skinny one without a fan and 16MB cache for $280...

I sort of like #3 but I'm worried about it not having a fan. Drives run hot and I live where it can get hot. #1 seems good because of the fan and more cache, yet #2 costs more. Why?

I'm confused.

From those pages the $325 has more ( sort of ) - it's a 800 GB, 7200 RPM,RAID 0 setup, less storage more speed?

The $259 is a 1TB triple interface drive .... and tat is all it tells you.

Did they tell you that $325 model is discontinued? I am on the fantomdrives.com site and cannot find that one.
