Hi all,

I hear people on the forums going on about @mac.com email addresses, mobile me email addresses and iCloud email addresses....

I am a little confused, what email extensions are currently provided by apple, and which one would be set up when purchasing my first mac?

Is the mac.com for people who have a mac and is the me one an additional email address for people with iOS devices??

Thanks

So judging from that originally all mac users had a free @mac.com email address/account, then people who subscribed to mobile me also got a @me.com address, but wih any new subscribers just got the @me.com address.

Now with the introduction of iCloud that has now forced everyone to have a @me.com address? By this I mean (@me.com is now apples only email address extension). With some @mac.com addresses still lingering who haven't started using iCloud?

Thanks

Can I keep my MobileMe email address once I move to iCloud?
Yes. If you have an active MobileMe account when you sign up for iCloud, you can keep your me.com or mac.com email address and any email aliases you have created and move your MobileMe mail, contacts, and calendars, as well as your bookmarks, to the new service. When you're ready to make the move, go to www.me.com/move.
