I've read on Apple's offical Bootcamp FAQ that you CAN use a Windows 7 upgrade with bootcamp - but I don't know if this applies to upgrading an existing install on a current windows partition, or a completely NEW install when no previous windows partition existed (i.e. totally virgin MBA).

I ask because I'm in grad school at the moment and the classes continue to throw Windows-only programs my way (i.e. Microsoft Access, Project, etc.) that I've been using on an old and tired Dell laptop.

I can download a Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade edition direct for a student discounted price on only 9.95! I would love to not have two laptops on my kitchen table...

So, can I run Bootcamp for the first time using a Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade or will it not register because it's an upgrade and not a full install? School is expensive enough as it is so I'm okay with using the Dell until it finally dies, but Bootcamp would be much preferred.
