My dad bought me an iPhone 6s on the ATT Next 24 plan last year late November. We were told that we have to pay for 30 months and could upgrade 24 months later. Does this mean that if we upgrade after 24 months we have to pay the rest of the 6 months plus the new phone's bill, or only the new phone's bill?

You have to pay for 24 months. Then you can upgrade but but you have to send them back the phone. Then you start a whole new payment plan for the new phone. If you upgrade and send them back your phone, you are not responsible for the remaining payments.

If you want to keep the phone, then you have to pay it completely off.

Wait, so can we pay it off completely before 24 months are over, and upgrade even earlier?

Yep!

If you check upgrade option either online or in the att app.... it will tell you that you owe $X to upgrade or $X to pay off. You can select one of those and make the payment right in the app or online!

We're actually making the final payment needed to upgrade with turn-in this year cuz we had a hard time getting ours sold last year (we don't do SWAPPA or other online ones where you have to mail the phone off and have a chance of getting scammed.... only dealt locally and with cash.)
