Confused on how to set up airport express

Ok...so i have this 2wire router provided to me by AT&T

I have Alienware connected to the router for internet.

So i have this express...
1) i know it has to be plugged in the wall
2) do i take an ethernet cord..and connect the express to the 2wire router? so now i have the router..with the alienware still connected to it..but now it has a cord going out to the express? Will this work?

so essentially...the express is like another computer connecting to the 2wire. I wasnt sure if i turn on the wireless express..it would make the alienware lose the wired connection. since all the internet signal will be sent wireless (if that makes any sense)
