I read this on MacRumors and am a little confused. I took this to mean that I can pay $200 for the 6s plus the monthly payments or whatever for the service but at $200 the phone is all paid off. Everywhere I look and even on Apple.com they still want like $500+ for these phones. Am I reading into this wrong or something? I have tmobile if that matters.

iPhone 6s retails for $199/$299/$399 for 16GB/64GB/128GB respectively on a two-year contract. iPhone 6s Plus retails for $299/$399/$499 for 16GB/64GB/128GB respectively on a two-year contract. Carrier financing and leasing programs are also available through AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and many other carriers worldwide.

Those are the prices for a traditional, subsidized 2-year contract with the carriers. If you have an option at your carrier for that kind of plan, then you can get or renew a contract and pay that amount to get your phone.

If you have an unsubsidized phone plan, such as anything on TMo or any of Verizon's new plans, then you need to either buy the phone for full price or finance it through either Apple (via the upgrade plan) or your carrier.
