confused over MBP- where to get it fromm

so if you may not know:
microcenters.com is holding a super special which is $999.99 USD for the MBP (thats $200 off with NO rebate!)

now the thing im confused about is my friend's friend works at apple so my friend assured me that i could get a good deal.
now here is the problem:
my friend is having a hip operation and he isn't feeling too good, so calling him up and asking him to do things for me isn't ideal at the moment.

so what should i do.. im planning to call him next week (5 days after operation) but im not too sure..

im also planning to buy an iPad and office 2011?

i hear that apple employees have 10% off anything and the 15% for three systems..and the 25% for themselves?
so should i buy the MBP form micro center and then request my dad for the iPad and Office 2011 from apple?

so its:
(2) MBPs, (1) iPad, (1) MS Office 2011 Student [Family edition]

I purchased my MBP from Microcenter. The manager was very nice and helpful, it was a very good experience. If you can wait, try to wait until your friend gets better. I believe he will be able to get 25% off. Either way you go make sure you call and see how he is feeling!
