Hi! I'm going to college next year and desperately need a new computer. I am going to be studying architecture so I will need a good graphics card. For this reason I cannot get a macbook - I have to spend an extra grand on the pro just for the graphics card.

I have heard that the macbook's graphics card will be updated soon... will this suffice and allow me to just buy a macbook or will I still need a pro due to the intense rendering?

Thanks for your help!!!

Since we know nothing about either of the new ones, we don't know.

The MacBook's new IGPU will be comparable to the Intel x4500. The MacBook Pro's dedicated graphics card will NOT be better than the GeForce 9650M GT.

The new macbook will probably have better integrated graphics, but I doubt it will have a dedicated graphics card, so if you need a dedicated card you will still need the mbp.
