I'm looking at buying a new Mac mini but Im confused about which one to get. I hear that the M1 is the best one to get for video editing but why is the
I just noticed that the max RAM in the M1 is 16GB whereas the other one is up to 64GB...........I'm in no hurry to buy so just wondering if there will be a option for more RAM in the M1 at a later date?Don't pay attention to the Intel pricing. Apple keeps their pricing pretty stable regardless.
Depending on your workflow, the M1 may be your best match.
Several rumors have suggested the alleged 14 and 16" MBP releasing later this year will have more RAM. If you use a lot of intensive CPU work on sustained daily basis, you will probably want to wait for the later M series offerings that have more than 16GB of RAM etc.I just noticed that the max RAM in the M1 is 16GB whereas the other one is up to 64GB...........I'm in no hurry to buy so just wondering if there will be a option for more RAM in the M1 at a later date?

It's mainly because the memory on the Intel Mini is upgradable, whereas the M1 memory is not. You have to pre-buy the memory you need, which then sometimes work out to be more than the Intel version where you can add in non-Apple memory and not have to pay that Apple tax it demands when you buy new!I'm looking at buying a new Mac mini but Im confused about which one to get.
