Hi,
I exchanged a classic macbook pro for a retina one and i now want a refund on my retina one however the receipt only shows the money paid for the difference between the 2 laptops.

if i ask for a refund will they try and give me a gift card for the £999?

If you have a receipt showing how you paid for the 13" cMBP, you have a shot. If not, Apple policy (at least in the US) is to issue a gift card.

If you bought the "classic" MacBook Pro within the last 14 days as well, you can get a refund back to your card.

Otherwise, you'll most likely get a gift card for the whole amount which is £1249.
