MacMall has some great prices right now on laptops but I cannot figure out why there are confusing prices. The only difference I can find from the MBO755LL/A and the MB487LL/A is one has 200g and the other a 160g hard drive. Yet, both are priced at $1400. (I believe both are glossy as well).

There is a matte for $80 more.

1. glossy or matte? Preferences?
2. Except for a slight piece of copy - the 160g calls itself a "harddrive laptop" what am I missing? last year's model? This years? Any idea?

If it's APPLES and apples (Pun intended) why would you not opt for the HD that is a little larger?.

Oh...and I want to use the laptop primarily to replace a 2002 G4 Quicksilver. I want the versatility: I will use with my Cinema Display and if I need it as a laptop, I'll use it that way. (And I'm on an extreme budget as I will need to spend $$$$$ to upgrade all my programs that currently run at 10.4.11 but won't on Leopard.)
