Confusing new icon...

So I've just noticed there is an odd icon in my Finder window. It is a question mark (?) and when I click on it, it simply comes up with a dialogue box saying 'The item can't be found'.

I don't take much notice usually, and therefore cannot tell if there is something missing. Does anyone know why this icon might be here? I haven't installed anything unusual as far as I can tell...

Probably just a finder item that you accidentally dragged up there and subsequently moved. You can remove it by holding command and dragging it away.
