Hi

For some reason I keep hearing a "congratulations you won" audio message.
I first thought it was some website with an ad, but the pages that were open at the time didn't show anything like that.

It happened a couple of times when I was using VLC and once when just using Safari.

I have a Macbook version 10.5.8

I have seen other mentions of this on different forums that seem to be just for Windows PC's but nothing relating to Macs...

Any ideas how I can stop it?

Much obliged...

Jonny

Likely its either a dashboard app (that always seems to be the case when people report music they dont know the source of) or possibly a 'pop under' in the browser. Can you pin down when it happens? Is a browser always open?

Yes, Safari has always been open.

It did happen once when I was using the Translator App in the dashboard.
It's always the same "congratulations you won" message, which bares no resemblance to anything in a browser or the translator...

Does it happen often enough that if you kill the translator dashboard app you'll quickly know if that was it?

No. It has been happening only once or twice a day.
And it only started this weekend, I have no new dashboard apps and haven't done anything different to normal...
