hey folks...
Title says it all. What kind of cable would I need to make this happen? Cinema Display is at least ten years old (I don't have it here, trying to remotely help a friend do this).
Thanks!

Which Cinema Display? Does it have a silver bezel?

I believe so, it's the ones that are about an inch think, this one I'm guessing is later 2000's-early 2010's. I'll attach everything he sent me>

Well it seems like your friend has a very old 15+ year old:
Apple Cinema Display
23-inch Aluminum (DVI) Monitor
M9178LL/A (Mid 2004)

If so, that display has a DVI port and if you can find a mini display or TB1 to DVi adapter, it should work.
The display will also need a USB connection to the MBP.
As a note, the Firewire 400 port plug will not work with the Mac's FW800 port though....

You just need a mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter. The display cable you show has an adapter already attached to it, so remove that one. The adapter you have for your computer is a mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, which will not work with that display.
