Hi. I'd like to use a 2012 iMac as a monitor for a 2019 MacBook Pro. What is the most cost-effective way of doing this, in terms of cables and/or adaptors? The iMac is running 10.13.6

Many thanks!

Ok, so no chance of using USB C to Mini Display Port? Thanks.

Most cost effective way:
Gut out the 2012 iMac, install a LCD driver board and use it as a stand-alone monitor. ($100 parts + $ labour)
