When trying to fix my jumpy M720 mouse, I told Bluetooth to forget the device. I was then unable to reconnect it until I went deep into my closet and found an old wired mouse. But according to the Internets, I should have been able to do this using my keyboard. But nothing worked. I was able to ope System Settings and get to Bluetooth. I could see the mouse on the list of available devices, but I couldn't highlight "connect" so that I could connect using the enter key. When I tried to move the "select" point over using the arrow keys it didn't work.
Then I tried using Spotlight and this Bluetooth File Exchange. Again, I was able to get to a dialog where I could see the mouse as available, and I was able to highlight it in the list by using the down arrows. But when I hit Enter, I just got an annoying sound.
I can't believe it's so difficult to connect a wireless mouse without having a wired mouse. I'd assume that most people nowadays have never seen a wired mouse. What was I doing wrong?
