Connect an Apple TV to an Apple Display

Hi someone knows how I can connect an Apple TV to an Apple Display (minidisplay port).

I have an Apple Display I no longer use and I thought about using it on my meeting room as an airplay display, for that I could use and Apple TV, but I can't figure out how to go from HDMI to mini display.

I tried this configuration:

Apple Display > female to female minidisplay adaptor > mini display to HDMI cable > Apple TV

But it didn't work. Any ideia why?

You've turned around the signal direction. The signal goes from Apple TV to the Apple monitor.
Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables are mono-directional. You need an HDMI to (Mini) DisplayPort cable to make it work in that direction.
