I'm connecting my itouch to a blue&me USB connection in a Fiat car with the Fiat iPhone/touch USB adapter. This connects to the dock connector on the iTouch. There isn't an aux connecter on the radio.
I don't a) trust the voltage (in the old days voltages on caar electrics varied widely as the car engine load changed) and b) I'm not sure its marvellous for the itouch battery that its on charge all the time its in use.
Is there any way I can have it connected without charging ? I seem to remember there were some devices that would connect to the dock connector and play stuff from an ipod but wouldn't charge it. I've tried using an old USB extension cable and cutting the power line (the red one, pin 1) but of course then there's no power at all to it.
Ideas please ?
Is b) above true ? I use my itouch a great deal in many areas of my life and I'm reluctant to knacker the battery.
I can use an ordinary stick and copy stuff across but that's a pain, to say nothing of the hastle of converting AAC's to MP3's.
