I was wondering if you can connect an iphone to itunes or charger without the battery inside? The reason is I like to check if the phone works after cleaning it for water damage. Tried to connect it with the battery inside, which probably is dead, but iphone did not respond at all. If I can't connect an iphone without battery then the next step is to get a new battery and then try again. But if I can and the iphone does not respond then I take it the logic board is fried? ( Cleaned every thing extremely well with IPA, even soaked the logic board in it ) Any feedback would be great.

one more thing, with the battery in it I did get a short connect sound but the iphone stays dark and turned off.
