Connect Issues Since Upgrading

I upgraded to OS 10.4.9 and that’s when the trouble began.
This computer (iMac) is part of a network. No problem getting online with OS 10.4
Now, whenever I start browser, a message says I am not connected to internet. I proceed with dianostics, and simply keep pressing ‘continue’ and then it tells me I am connected. Doesn’t seem like it is “remembering” anything, and it is a pain.

Any thoughts? Help?

Is that the only thing it's forgetting? Did you change any of the system names like your Home folder?
