Connect Mac & iPhone to monitor with one HDMI Port

I have a monitor that comes with just one HDMI port I use that port to connect my MacBook but I would like to be able to connect my iPhone to the same monitor through AirPlay.

Is this possible at all? I have been searching for some kind of HDMI cable with a built-in AirPlay receiver but it appears such a product is not availble.

An AppleTV will do it. It acts as an AirPlay receiver and has an HDMI output.

I know would just prefer something cheaper and smaller as I don't need all the Apple TV features.
