Connect mac to TV with sound?

Hello

i have connected my mac via vga-hmdi to my samsung HD TV -

However i cannot get the sound to play through the TV itself
is there anyway to do this?

The video and sound boards are separate on a Mac, so even if you do get an HDMI adapter it will only output video. You just need a cable that's 3.5mm (headphone) jack on one end and white/red RCA cables to hook up to the TV. You may also be able to use an optical cable with a TOSlink adapter (for the Mac side).
