Hi Guys,

Im having issues connecting the MBP to a LCD. Only works for video, when should also work for audio. The cable is Dr. Bott Mini DisplayPort 15038 to HDMI Adapter II. I tried everything/options both Mac and LCD and nothing. Could you lead me into the correct direction?

In case of cable unsupported featrue, which new cable should I buy?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

Looks like it's supported. Bad cable maybe? "Audio output supported via the mini DisplayPort on Macbook Pros released in April 2010."

Try and do what @djpuma sad, and here is a quick guide.
Go to System Preferences. Open Sound, go to Output and there should be at least two options. Pick the Display Port or HDMI one.
Hope I helped.

It is possible that the issue lies with the cable itself (I've seen this happen before with similar types of cables).

Your best bet if troubleshooting steps don't resolve the issue would be to purchase a proper Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter, such as this one manufactured by Moshi, and then connect a standard HDMI cable from the adapter to your device.

Hope that helps, have a great day. :)
