We have a fairly old Bang & Olufsen TV that doesn't support component or HDMI input, just composite / s-video.

Is there any way to connect my unibody MBP to this television?

You should be able to go Display port to DVI Connector and from that DVI down to a composite connection. The same could also hold true for DP to VGA. You will have trouble playing copy protected content though.

Here is something the Apple store has;

Sorry but that won't work, because the miniDP->DVI adapter does not contain the analog signals necessary to make that work. The only option that I am aware of is the minDP->VGA adapter and a VGA->composite/s-video conversion box.

That is interesting so this adaptor is able to get analog from an old MBP's DVI but not from the miniDP? Interesting indeed.

Many users have tried this combo and found that the new miniDP->DVI is actually only DVI-D, unlike the old miniDVI->DVI adapters. I recently saw a thread on this on the Apple forums.

Very interesting, so there are a fair amount of old HDTVs and reg TV's that only have composite, s-video and perhaps a VGA port. This means the only bet is miniDP to VGA to composite (assuming there is no VGA)

Just one more thing that Apple takes away but does not tell us about. I'll bet they get a lot of angry customers this way! Oh, and BTW, you better not try to play your iTunes HD movies via VGA or on a non-HDCP monitor/tv (like Apple's very own ACD).
