Connect My Book to Mac Mini System 10.4.11?

I have succeeded at this in the past but no luck now. My MyBook is attached to my Mac Mini (10.4.11) but it doesn't announce itself on the desktop.

FYI, MyBook blue circle is lighted but not swirling.
Help?
