I've got two firewire enclosures but only one firewire cable. Basically I'm looking to bridge the two firewire drives together with the cable and then connect one of them to the imac via USB. I've been switching the firewire cable between them and its a pain. Has anyone done this before? I'd try it myself but I don't want to risk my drives going kaboom or something.

It won't work. The drives will not bridge firewire to USB.

To my knowledge, most firewire drives have two firewire connectors can be daisy-chained by firewire cables, like Computer<-FW->Drive 1<-FW->Drive 2, but Computer<-USB->Drive 1<-FW->Drive 2 is a no go.

That's what I figured, now I have to go buy another firewire cable. Thanks for your help.
