Connect Windows Keyboard with Windows Layout

Ok so I've got a macbook running OS X
And separately I've got a Windows keyboard
Every now and then I need to log in for work into a virtual machine that runs Windows

Is there a way to make the connected Windows keyboard behave correctly on Windows? For example right now "windows" button does nothing and alt doesn't work..
