Hi
I hope I am in the right section. Forgive me, if I am not.
I bought an EPSON printer today XP 240 and despite me loading the install program for Mac OS I cannot get the Mac to "see" the printer. I thought it would be easy. It is not hard wired to the Mac.
Can someone help?

How is it connected, then? Is it on the local network? It shouldn't really be a big deal to add a networked printer, although you might need to know the printer's local network IP address.

It should connect via WI-FI - and here I don't know how to nail the local network IP address. Can you help?

on this page you should find a link to the user's guide for the printer. I'd start with the section on wi-fi networking and look for how to print a network status page. That should tell you the IP address. I don't know that printer at all, so I don't know if you can set it up with airprint (in which case I don't think you need the IP address).

Sometimes, it can help to "start as simply as possible", and then "move forward" afterwards.

I'd suggest that you relocate the printer near the Mac, and connect via USB or ethernet.
Then, see if you can get it going with the proper driver that way.

If you can get it working that way, then it's time to try connecting via wifi...
