Connect360 showing black and white bars on outline of picture?

I just purchased Connect360 and have been streaming some .avi movies to my xbox360. A couple movies i can play show up fullscreen just fine, but some come up as widescreen and have these very annoying black and white (kinda checkerboardish) bars above and below the picture.

Anyone had this problem? Is it fixable?

awesome! Just got the E74 error message on my xbox360!!!

looks like it will be 3-4 weeks before i can mess with connect360 again, but id still like to hear your guys' opinions on the matter.
