connecting 2 macs with a firewire - assistance?

Hi, all.

I am trying to easily copy some files between my MacBook and my older iMac. Someone mentioned to me that this was very easy if the computers were connected with a firewire cable. However - I can't figure out what to do once I get them connected. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Not difficult - start up the one you want the files off in Target mode, connect the firewire cable and use the Target computer as if it was an external hard drive.
