Connecting 2010 Macbook to an external monitor.

I have 2010 Macbook (the unibody model in white colour). I want to connect it to my desktop monitor. The Samsung monitor on my desk has a VGA 15 pin connector. The Macbook does not have this connector. Kindly let me know as to how I can connect my Macbook to this monitor and use my Macbook in a Clampshell manner.
