Connecting 2011 Macbook Pro to External monitor.

Hey all. I'm looking to connect my MBP to my Dell Truecolour 24" monitor (http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sn...sk&s=corp&sku=128234&~lt=popup&~ck=ManRelated). Would I be right in thinking the thunderbolt port connects to external display, meaning that I need one of these; http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB570Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA4Mw&mco=MTczNzE2NTY or an equivalent. As you can probably tell, I'm a mac noob

Those are GREAT prices for those adapters, is that site legit? I've never heard of it before and mostly just deal with Newegg/Amazon

Yes, Monoprice is legit. They have been around for years.

On Amazon.com they have a Mini Displayport to DVI cable. I would recommend that over the adaptor, so you don't have a big dongle sticking off the side of your computer.

I wouldn't since reading the reviews, it has a fat connector that blocks the ports on either side
