So I'm trying to figure out the best way to setup 3 airport extremes throughout the house. This is what I got:
Base - in our play room (this is connected to the modem)
Closet - this is on the opposite site of the house (connected using ethernet from the Base airport ethernet port into the Closet WAN port)
Downstairs - this is downstairs by one of the TVs (connected using ethernet from the Closet airport ethernet port into the Downstairs WAN port)
The Base airport is the newer aiport (simultaneous) and the closet and downstairs is the older airport (dual band). Is this the best to go to set these up? The problem I'm facing right now is our internet speeds have significantly dropped. The way I'm setting these up in the airport utility is: Connect to a network using Ethernet to extend the network or create a second network > select the Base > then it creates a roaming network
Or should I just join the wireless network that the Base station creates? Not sure if this would slow down the network even more. The reason I need multiple base stations is downstairs I need to hook up the Tivo to one then upstairs run and ethernet to some computers that don't have wireless capabilities.
