Connecting a FullHD LCD TV to my Mac

Hi,

i just bought a new FullHD LCD TV and I want to connect my Mac to it.
I bought a DVI to HDMI cable and it works but the image quality is very bad.

Look at the fonts for example.

I found some people with the exact same problem on the internet and they all got the advise to turn something off in their ATI graphics card driver and it works well. I also tried it on my windows machine.

Unfortunately OS X doesn't give you much control to the video output. I can just setup the resolution and refresh rate.

Does anyone know this problem and has a OS X compatible solution?

I have found it work work well through DVI or HDMI from my PowerBook with the Radeon 7500.

It looks like anti-Aliasing isn't strong enough. Try changing its settings in the General Controls Preference Pane. Also, I would try 60Hz, as that is what most of those screens were originally designed to handle, since that is what China, Japan, and the US use.

Also double check to make sure your screen is actually 1920x1080. I know that is full HD, but some companies smudge the numbers.
