I managed to score two working condition stock G4 Cubes and have a working 23' Cinema HD Display (acrylic) that's currently connected to a Powerbook G4 Ti.

One is with HDD / AirPort / 1.5G RAM / ATI Rage 128 Pro. The OS is 10.3.2 (Panther)
The other one was stored as a spare, and it is HDD-less / AirPort-less / memory 512G and a GeForce2 MX.

Am I able to connect either of these to the ACD HD? I have a Sonnet 1Ghz CPU upgrade board and an original ADC Male to DVI Female adapter as well. I would love to keep and use the 23' but if it's too much trouble, I also don't mind selling it and making way for something closer to the original Cube setup - a 17" Studio Display CRT / LCD.

I would suggest one of the ADC adapters that will power the screen. The Cube power bricks seem to be failing these days, so if you can reduce the load it should help extend its life. You could also replace the Cube power brick if you are not concerned with having the original collector setup with all matching parts, etc.

If you install the CPU upgrade, I'd also suggest adding a fan to the base of the Cube. Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Thanks for all the suggestions! And some things to ponder in future @ervus.

If I wanted optimum performance, I assume I should go for a low profile GeForce 6200 and the CPU/fan upgrade?

If I didn’t go the modding route, what would the ideal monitor be for the GeForce 2 MX?

I believe the OP is referring to the LED 23 Inch Mini display port Cinema display. Can this work with a PowerPC Mac ?

A 23" Apple display that connects by mini-DP does not exist.

Aside from that, read the word "acrylic" in the OP. Aside from the very first 22" displays, all the acrylic displays are ADC. Even the DVI version of the 22" is quite scarce and I've personally never seen one-I assume probably somewhat related to them being something like $4K when introduced. Even the ADC 22" isn't super common(vs. 21 and 23) although it's more common than than the DVI.

All other Cinema displays are aluminum.

Also, a 23" Cinema pairs nicely with a Geforce 3, which also runs cool in the Cube. My Cube with a Geforce 3 has mostly been connected to an ADC CRT, which runs beautifully at 1600x1200 at I think 75hz. The Geforce 3 isn't exactly the easiest card to find, though.
