Hi. What settings are needed for an XP pc to connect to a Mac Snow Leopard Server share?
I have created this pc user on the Mac with full permissions, what do I have to do to see a share within the XP pc as when I go to 'Network Places' the Mac Server does not show up to map a network drive to it.

I also have another pc user who can read all POSIX but only Write to specific folders that POSIX is applied to them. Is it not better to use ACL for him to access the Server (even though the username and password is created within Server Admin of Snow Leopard). Sorry but I am a new Mac User and pc to pc networking I now but this is all new to me.

Please help.

Non-domain based name resolution and broadcasting is flaky at best.

Do the Mac and XP box share a workgroup name?

Can you tell who is the master browser?
Code:
nmblookup -M -- -

I don't know if this will help, but can you install Bonjour on your XP box?
