I have seen several threads on this subject but none that answers my questions completely. My 2wire doesn't provide adequate coverage so I have bought an AirPort Extreme (and an AirPort Express to extend the coverage of the Extreme). I have windows PCs, an HP printer, Apple TV, 2 iPads and a Wii. Currently I have bridged the Extreme and it shows on my 2wire as a part of the "Home Network" along with the PCs and other devices. I have not disabled the router on the 2wire as several posts said that it destabilizes the 2wire modem router. I don't see a significant improvement in connection speed in the far reaches of the house as I had expected.

My question is - for better coverage should I disable the 2wire router and just use it as a modem? If yes, then please can someone provide a step-by-step guide on how this should be done both for the 2wire and the Extreme?

Very grateful for your help.
