Hey guys

Im currently in the middle of putting together a mini bedroom studio setup, and had a quick question.

Im going to be buying both the Akai LPK25 and the LPD8, but i was just wondering whether or not i will need a midi interface to connect these to logic, or can i just plug in direct via the usb cables they come with?

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but i just want to be sure.

Thanks.

no you will not need a midi interface. Midi is transfered through the USB cable for these controllers.

You generally only need a midi interface if you have a piece of hardware that only has midi in/out ports, which the controllers you are looking at don't even have. These are easily recognizable circular 5 pin ports.

Thanks Howard

All of my previous midi instruments have had the midi in/out ports so was a bit unsure when it said i could just connect via usb.

Oh well, bit less clutter for my desk!
