As the title suggests, I am trying to hook up my late 2007 MacBook with a mini DVI port to a apple Cinema Display with a ADC port. I am confused however, on why the connectors are so expensive? Why is there a need for a power source? The monitor already has a plug, wires to connect to usb and FireWire. I just need to convert adc to dvi

The ADC screens only have one plug, that sigular plug takes power, video, and USB data between the two devices. The screen itself does not have a power supply and needs one either from a G4/G5 or an ADC adapter. The adapters are expensive because not a lot were made and they required a rather large amount of material to produce.
